Safe Software Removal on Windows

Back up unique data, identify the exact publisher and version, prefer the normal uninstaller, restart when requested, and review every proposed leftover before deletion.

Do not remove blindly

Drivers, security products, VPN adapters, runtimes, databases, and shared components need additional care. A matching name is not enough evidence that a file or registry key belongs only to the target program.

Recovery

Use a real backup for personal data. System Restore can assist with some system configuration changes but does not replace a file backup or full system image.
